Job Summary
The Gas Line Construction Technician plays a vital role in supporting our crews by assisting with the installation and repair of gas lines. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
- Gather materials for daily tasks and ensure the crew has all necessary equipment.
- Distribute materials at the job site efficiently.
- Utilize hand-locating techniques to identify existing utilities.
- Perform landscape grading tasks as required.
- Safely operate various construction equipment, including rubber-tired backhoes, skid steer loaders, directional drills, trenchers, and asphalt paving machines.
- Assist in the installation of natural gas pipelines, lifting and maneuvering them as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in gas utility construction.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in gas utility construction.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The work requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and twisting.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role involves physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
