Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at Michigan Blueberry Growers Association. As a key member of our finance department, you will provide critical support to our Controller and Director of Finance and Administration in all areas of accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries, financial statement reporting, and other supporting schedules.
  2. Work closely with partner company staff to reconcile and record freight margin and shared services monthly.
  3. Reconcile flexible spending accounts, balance sheet accounts, and supply inventory monthly.
  4. Provide monthly details to partner companies for intercompany expenses and shared services.
  5. Prepare monthly Budget Variance Reports and distribute them to managers.
  6. Serve as back up to Controller/HR Manager in payroll and supervise the Accounts Payable Clerk and (Supply) Accounting Assistant.
  7. Assist in annual budget workpaper preparation and prepare audit work papers to facilitate the annual audit process.
  8. Record monthly Berry Blue transactions and maintain fixed assets, property tax statements, and personal property tax returns.
  9. Manage grant projects and new capital projects as needed.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with at least 3-5 years of experience.
  2. 1-2 years of management experience.
  3. Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Access, and Word.
  4. Business Central accounting software experience preferred.
  5. Ability to work in a professional, confident manner and prioritize tasks effectively.
  6. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to commute to Grand Junction, MI.
