Overview
The Interface Analyst serves as the main liaison for the interfaces assigned for implementation and ongoing support. This role involves coordinating analysis sessions to pinpoint business requirements, crafting technical designs, and managing issue resolution essential for the successful implementation and maintenance of interfaces. Collaboration with project managers, application teams, and technical experts is crucial to ensure that interfaces align with user needs. The analyst also acts as a subject matter expert in EHR application integration with various clinical applications and information systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the complete implementation lifecycle of interfaces, web services, and standardized APIs (such as FHIR), encompassing analysis, design, specification, execution, and support.
- Collaborating with application teams, subject-matter experts, and third-party application specialists to ascertain business needs, document requirements, and configure interfaces accordingly. Working alongside these groups to troubleshoot and resolve interface-related challenges while supporting ongoing application initiatives.
- Monitoring, triaging, and addressing daily interface errors, coordinating with technical teams, application teams, and representatives from third-party systems as needed.
- Identifying and escalating risks linked to technical project tasks and third-party systems.
- Coordinating interface-specific tasks and activities such as testing, build, cutover planning, and go-live by engaging subject-matter experts, vendors, server and networking teams, and interface engine developers.
- Collaborating with interface engine developers to formulate data translation strategies that meet the requirements of both Epic and third-party systems.
- Providing proactive support by overseeing live interfaces and working with experts to resolve any issues that arise.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to comprehend business requirements and their implications on technical solutions.
- Adept at navigating a complex environment to manage multiple concurrent communication needs.
- Proficient in tracking tasks, defining next steps, identifying responsible parties, and ensuring accountability.
- Skilled in coordinating activities and facilitating meetings with various stakeholders, including vendors, subject-matter experts, interface engine developers, and end users.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A degree in a technical field.
- Prior experience with interfacing medical devices and/or third-party healthcare applications.
- Knowledge of SQL programming and HL7 protocols.
- Experience with interface engines such as Cloverleaf or Corepoint.
