About the Job:

We are seeking a Community Tree Care Coordinator to join our team at TreePeople. As a Community Tree Care Coordinator, you will play a key role in engaging residents to take environmental action in their communities. This position involves conducting various aspects of the project, including tree planting, tree maintenance, volunteer coordination, community engagement, and data collection within the San Gabriel Valley region and surrounding communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate community tree planting and tree care events with local volunteers.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of 15-gallon street trees.
  • Collaborate with community volunteers and staff to develop and implement community tree care plans.
  • Manage and maintain TreePeople's tool inventory and trucks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and report data on tree plantings and maintenance activities.
  • Promote community tree care initiatives and engage residents in environmental actions.
  • Represent TreePeople at meetings and community events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in community engagement and outreach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with local climate resilience and environmental issues.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Valid CA Driver's license and clean driving record.

Salary: $20.00 per hour
