Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States The Intersect Group Full time

Important Note: NO C TO C OR SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE

The Intersect Group is seeking a dedicated Technical Support Specialist to provide high-level assistance in the field. This role involves extensive interaction with end users, requiring strong diagnostic skills for both PC and MAC systems, as well as expertise in laptop and workstation connectivity, software installations, and user profile migrations during PC refresh cycles. Experience with printers, copiers, and network switch ports is also essential.

Location:

This position is primarily based in Harrisburg, PA, with travel commitments that account for approximately half of the work schedule. Travel will encompass various sites located east of State College, including regions in New Jersey, Upper Delaware, Newcastle, Upper Maryland, Baltimore, Hagerstown, and New York, with occasional trips to Boston.

Regional Support Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for traveling to regional railroad sites to deliver technical support and facilitate systems deployments. This role will mirror the support provided at the Division Office, albeit on a less frequent basis due to the number of regional locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary local contact for any IT-related issues or initiatives. In a reactive capacity, address equipment problems involving computers, printers, copiers, faxes, and scanners, while serving as the local representative for IT to assist with network and application troubleshooting.
  • In a proactive capacity, maintain local technology equipment, offer computer training, and provide instruction on office and business applications. Collaborate with local users to identify ways technology can enhance their operations, and advocate for business users' needs to the broader IT team.
  • Support both office personnel and remote division sites, ensuring a seamless technology experience.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while working around large machinery, following all safety regulations pertinent to the railroad environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and appropriate footwear in designated areas.
