Position Overview
The Chief Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operational integrity of our training vessel, ensuring it is maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily upkeep and functionality of the school ship, the Freedom Star.
- Conduct monthly voyages lasting four days, facilitating practical training for our unlicensed apprentices.
- Collaborate with a diverse group of students from various backgrounds, enhancing their learning experience in the engine department.

Essential Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with an appropriate Chief Engineer license, specifically a Motor Limited 4,000 HP.
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Military experience may be considered equivalent.
