Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and proficient Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to become a part of our team. This role involves evaluating and treating students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for speech and language services. You will engage directly with children, facilitating therapy sessions, executing treatment plans, and offering essential support to promote their growth and development. Additionally, you will oversee Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and guide them during their therapy sessions with students. We welcome applications from SLPs in the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapy support by implementing treatment plans and therapeutic techniques.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and their responses to therapy activities.
  • Collaborate with SLPAs to tailor treatment strategies based on the unique needs of each student.
  • Engage with students in a warm and nurturing manner to foster a positive therapeutic experience.
  • Encourage student participation in therapy activities to promote communication and language development.
  • Build rapport with students and their families to establish trust and ensure a supportive environment.
  • Maintain accurate student records, progress notes, and documentation in accordance with educational standards.
  • Coordinate with school staff and SLPAs to schedule therapy sessions for students.
  • Communicate effectively with support staff and parents, providing regular updates on students' progress.
  • Collaborate with other educational professionals to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to therapy.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in pediatric speech therapy.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Valid state license or certification.
  • ASHA Certification.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations and a strong commitment to assisting children with speech and language difficulties.
  • Familiarity with speech therapy techniques and methodologies, including the use of therapy materials and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with children and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic therapy team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Compassionate and attentive, with the capability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
