Airflow Quality Inspector Job Description

Hi-Tek Manufacturing Inc is seeking an experienced Airflow Quality Inspector to join our team. As an Airflow Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products by conducting visual, airflow, and dimensional inspections of aerospace and gas turbine components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret operational sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpieces to customer specifications using precision measuring tools and airflow equipment.
  • Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances to complete inspections as required.
  • Clean parts using chemical degreasers and parts wash machines.
  • Prepare parts using foil tape and sealing wax.
  • Perform and document scheduled airflow tests, including shut-off valve tests, system leak tests, and flow restriction tests.
  • Analyze and interpret test results.
  • Load and unload parts for airflow and other testing as required.
  • Document actions by updating control charts, travelers, and reporting labor in the ERP system.
  • Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties.
  • Follow all Hi-Tek policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE.
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.
  • Effective communication and people skills to maintain a working relationship with Quality, Engineering, and Management.
  • Dependability, integrity, cooperation, and taking the initiative for work responsibilities and challenges are critical.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and self-direct.
  • Always take ownership and be accountable for your actions.
  • Reliable attendance and a respectful demeanor are necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must meet the ITAR definition of 120.15 U.S. person.
  • 2+ years of prior experience with visual, airflow, and dimensional inspections of aerospace and gas turbine components required.
  • Experience working in a Quality System certified to ISO9001, AS9100, or Nadcap a plus.
  • Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferred.

Physical Demand Levels:

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as required.
  • Lift, push, and/or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularly.
  • Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary.
  • Stand at least 50% of scheduled shift.
  • Walking or sitting as needed to perform job duties as assigned.
  • Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials.
