Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Command. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for administering architectural-engineering contract negotiations, reviewing projects for adequacy and constructability, and coordinating civil engineering matters with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer architectural-engineering contract negotiations to ensure project objectives are met within established cost limitations.
  • Review projects for adequacy of proposed final design, possibility of more economical final design, and method of construction.
  • Coordinate civil engineering matters involving Architect-Engineer firms, design-build contractors, officers, and other representatives from various commands and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, availability, or suitability of specified materials, and suitability of design for intended use.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in contract negotiations, project management, and team coordination. You must also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer by any state, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Applicants must meet the basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management, which include a professional engineering degree or current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
