Position Summary

The Civil Project Manager is tasked with prioritizing quality and client satisfaction. This role involves overseeing and managing design, reporting, and planning for various development projects, including residential and commercial sites. The individual will collaborate closely with senior management and clients to manage project workflows, establish timelines, and guide technical staff.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Expertise

  • Site grading and roadway design.
  • Stormwater management and modeling.
  • Design of water and sewer systems.
  • Preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Land use planning and site layout.
  • Development of specifications.
  • Preparation of engineering estimates.

Management Responsibilities

  • Supervision of design and technical teams.
  • Comprehensive project management.
  • Budget management and oversight.
  • Project scheduling and timeline management.
  • Review and approval of monthly invoices.
  • Preparation of change orders as needed.
  • Management of accounts receivable and collections.
  • Preparation of statements of qualifications and proposals.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering personnel at all levels and engage with clients and regulatory staff.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Self-driven, ethical, and reliable work ethic.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient in Civil 3D and Bluebeam software for civil engineering tasks.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering design.
  • Experience with public projects is advantageous.
  • Field experience in construction is beneficial.
  • Washington State Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Work involves a combination of sitting and intermittent standing/walking.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as necessary.
  • Capability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
