Job Title: Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at the Madawaska Outpatient office.

Job Summary:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will be responsible for establishing a strong clinical relationship with individuals seeking substance use assessment and treatment interventions to begin their recovery process. The goal is to positively engage the client and work directly with referral sources, and the community about different treatment interventions that have shown to be successful with the client's clinical presentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate bio-psycho-social services that demonstrate respect to clients, client's families, and the community.
  • Offer co-occurring services to individuals as needed, demonstrating AMHC's service-focused treatment by creating individualized plans.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships to continue cooperative relationships with providers and the community.
  • Demonstrate AMHC's integrity by providing case management functions to continue all services with excellence.
  • Provide compassionate individual, group, and family counseling for clients, family, and the community.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, plus a minimum of 1 year of formal or life experience is required.
  • CADC or LADC required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relatable field is preferred.
