Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Metallurgy Internship at Steel Dynamics, Inc. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of metallurgy and develop skills in engineering principles, laboratory equipment operation, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the performance of engineering duties, applying engineering principles to optimize processes and improve product quality.
  • Conduct and analyze mill experiments to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Write comprehensive reports on findings, highlighting key results and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on ongoing projects, providing support and expertise as needed.
  • Operate various laboratory equipment to analyze processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform data analysis and report trends to operation personnel, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Develop and implement trials based on research and needs, working closely with operation personnel to ensure successful execution.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Materials Science or Engineering.
  • Completed at least their freshman year of study.
  • Preferred GPA of at least 2.7.
