Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Communicable Disease Department at Variety Care. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals affected by HIV and Hepatitis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including interviews, medical history recording, and vital sign measurement.
  • Coordinate patient care around HIV and Hepatitis testing, prophylaxis, and treatment, as well as administrative duties such as referrals, prior authorization, and scheduling.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccines, and document accordingly.
  • Prepare and restock examination room supplies daily.
  • Assist providers with patient physical exams and procedures as directed.
  • Dispose of contaminated items according to VARIETY CARE policy.
  • Follow Universal Precautions and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Arrange referrals outside VARIETY CARE as requested by providers.
  • Support patient education and care coordination in line with provider recommendations.
Requirements
  • Active LPN license in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Five years of clinical work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and record accurate information in electronic medical records software.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and typing.
  • Ability to administer medications and injections.
  • Experience using instrumentation used in lab point of care testing, as directed.
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality with information.
  • Experience working in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Completion of CTR training offered by OSDH.
  • ACLPN - AIDS certified licensed practical nurse.
  • Immunization state training.
