Job Summary

Clinical Assistants play a vital role in the delivery of quality patient care in our Orthopaedic Division. As a Clinical Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting physicians with direct patient care, handling the rooming and intake of patients, casting, injections as assigned, and other clinical duties as assigned by the Clinic Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with direct patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with procedures.
  • Room and intake patients, including verifying patient information, taking medical histories, and preparing patients for exams.
  • Cast and apply orthopaedic devices as assigned by physicians.
  • Administer injections as assigned by physicians.
  • Perform other clinical duties as assigned by the Clinic Supervisor, including answering phones, preparing medical records, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Current MA, CNA, Athletic Trainer, Rad Tech, LPN, or other relevant clinical credential, certification, with relevant work history.
  • Current license as applicable issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure, certification within 6 months of date of hire.
  • Current BLS required or achieved within 3 months of date of hire.
  • Knowledge of and experience in healthcare field, medical office protocols/procedures.
  • Skill in performing clinical assistant tasks appropriately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of electronic medical records.
