Role Overview
The Paint Operations Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and guiding the Paint Team Leaders and personnel within the Paint Department to achieve objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, employee satisfaction, and environmental performance. Ideal candidates will have a robust understanding of paint application and repair processes, along with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing paint processes.
- Provide expertise on improvements in robotic paint application techniques.
- Supervise direct reports engaged in paint operations.
- Manage attendance and overtime for team members.
- Conduct regular Shop Floor Management meetings to review SQDCME performance.
- Facilitate practical problem-solving sessions addressing key SQDCME challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Promote a culture of 5S and support related activities.
- Oversee safety and environmental training requirements and ensure completion.
- Maintain adherence to Paint Visual Inspection Standards.
- Plan and allocate workforce to meet daily operational needs.
- Monitor daily production targets and ensure objectives are met.
- Proactively identify and improve constraints and bottlenecks in processes.
- Develop contingency plans for equipment downtime and failures.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Paint ME to implement preventative maintenance strategies.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and activities.
- Mentor and develop Team Leaders through coaching.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Support cross-training initiatives to enhance team flexibility.
- Engage with Labor Relations and local Union representatives as necessary.
- Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and suppliers as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- Resume submission is mandatory.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor technically skilled team members.
- Capability to inspire high performance in a team setting.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Ability to take ownership of problems and respond effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Technical background in paint processes is essential.
- Extensive experience in Paint Application Processes is required.
- Knowledge of Paint Robotic Application Processes is necessary.
