ABOUT THE POSITION:

Holcim US, a prominent provider of high-quality construction materials in the United States, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Heavy Equipment Operator. This position is essential for supporting operations at our asphalt plant locations. The primary responsibilities include maintaining the site and operating various machinery, which may involve tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, and performing minor maintenance duties like cleaning and lubricating equipment. Operators will also conduct thorough pre and post-operation inspections on machinery, including loaders, forklifts, and other equipment, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. Typical working hours range from early morning to late afternoon, with flexibility based on operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform comprehensive pre and post-operation inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance needs.
  • Identify and communicate safety concerns to supervisors, including near misses and potential hazards.
  • Coordinate effectively with loading and unloading areas.
  • Safely transport materials to designated locations while adhering to speed limits and safety protocols.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and customer service representatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a CLASS A CDL.
  • Experience with manual transmission vehicles.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions without restrictions.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • Commitment to safety practices.
  • Availability to work second shift hours as directed, typically starting between early morning and late afternoon.
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts.
