Job Title: CPU Performance Projections Engineer

Qualcomm is seeking a highly skilled CPU Performance Projections Engineer to join our team. As a CPU Performance Projections Engineer, you will be responsible for modeling and projecting the CPU performance for various Qualcomm SoCs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with stakeholders to gather product specifications and setup the CPU/SoC configuration in the performance simulator.
  • Run simulations, characterize various industry standard benchmarks using silicon and/or the performance simulator, and build analytical performance prediction models for various benchmarks.
  • Correlate performance projections vs silicon measurements and refine the projection methodology accordingly.
  • Organize work and document status, results in Jiras, and present the projection data at various forums in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • OR PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: CPU or SoC performance modeling, performance projections, analytical modeling, performance correlation/validation, workload characterization, performance measurements in silicon.
  • Experience with industry standard CPU benchmarks such as SPEC CPU, GeekBench, Speedometer, etc.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Perl, or Python.
  • Good understanding of statistical methods.
