CVI Center Coordinator Job Description

Perkins School for the Blind is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CVI Center Coordinator to join our team. As a CVI Center Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of CVI assessments, creating environmental and materials adaptations, and providing consultations to staff and educational programming for Perkins students with CVI.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing consistent and effective project completion related to the Perkins CVI Initiatives.
  • Support day-to-day CVI Center activities on and off campus.
  • Assist in completion of projects and activities related to CVI assessment, medical file review, parent interviewing, and report writing.
  • Execute projects and activities related to the continued engagement of families, low vision clinic staff, ophthalmologist and neurologist, and referral agencies who collaborate for diagnosis and service to students with CVI.
  • Develop and implement new initiatives and collaboration opportunities around CVI.
  • Provide lecture and online CVI content for parent and staff training, as well as presenting at conferences.
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve project issues and risks to on-time assessment and support project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments or Masters in a special education/RSP field with commitment to complete a Masters in TVI.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Experience with students with ocular and cortical/cerebral visual impairments.
Competencies:
  • Understanding of the assessment of students with multiple disabilities and CVI.
  • Competencies using the CVI Assessment tools.
  • 2 years of experience working as a TVI, assessing students who are impacted by CVI with and without multiple disabilities using the CVI Assessment tools.
