Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Controls Specialist to join our team at CLMI Group LLC. This role will involve performing HVAC Controls Design reviews, reviewing utility data and energy usage to identify schools for recommissioning and retrocommissioning, and assisting in updating controls specifications to meet new federal, state or local codes/standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC Controls Design reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Review utility data and energy usage to identify schools that require recommissioning and retrocommissioning to optimize energy efficiency.
  • Assist in updating controls specifications to meet new federal, state or local codes/standards, and assist with implementing requirements to allow for integration of other controls systems with EMS.
  • Review EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify no-cost/low-cost energy conservation measures and preventive maintenance measures.
  • Assist in managing In-House Commissioning Projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in building controls or a related field.
  • Experience with programming and controls database management, and comprehensive understanding of computer networking principles, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Competent knowledge and proficiency with HVAC operations within a facility, and experience in creating and adjusting sequences of operations, shop drawings, and project specifications.
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's or associate degree in engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical, information technology), or two-year technical degree in HVAC, Electronics-related studies with additional 2 years of experience to compensate for education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with multiple controls manufacturers, including Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane.
  • Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases, and experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites.
  • Extensive experience in performing or assisting in performance of commissioning of EMS.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $115,000, based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
