Fleet Services Technician II Job Description

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Services Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, and repairs on a variety of truck equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment, including electrical, brake, and cooling systems.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled safety training and maintain a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and findings observed on repair orders using company-issued devices and proprietary applications.
  • Communicate with management, team members, and dispatch via Microsoft Office products and other communication methods.
  • Work independently to manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service trucks and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment, including electrical, brake, and cooling systems.
  • Confer with customers, dispatch, and sales teams to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and discuss work to be performed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and meet Cox Automotive Mobility minimum driving qualification standards.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
  • Set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a power technician on medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skill/experiences.
