Optical Retail Assistant Manager

The primary role of the Optical Retail Assistant Manager is to enhance profitable sales growth by delivering exceptional patient experiences. This position involves leading the team in a constructive and efficient environment, exemplifying outstanding patient care. The Assistant Manager will work to cultivate and sustain high levels of associate and doctor satisfaction and retention.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Boost store sales by nurturing a patient-centric retail atmosphere.
- Achieve planned sales targets and year-over-year growth in comparable store sales.
- Ensure positive contributions to store performance year-on-year.
- Effectively train and develop team members to consistently deliver a patient-focused service.
- Support the development of a skilled team that assists with daily operational responsibilities.
- Build strong professional relationships with healthcare providers.
- Implement strategies to increase the number of examinations and convert those into sales.
- Engage in business planning and provide updates on business performance.
- Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction, as reflected in retention rates and feedback surveys.
- Maintain store merchandising and presentation standards, which include:
- Execution of merchandising plans
- Visual presentation inside and outside the store (e.g., signage)
- Overall cleanliness and housekeeping standards
- Professional appearance of associates in line with company standards
- Ensure quality service through customer follow-ups, accurate measurements, correct pricing, and realistic service delivery timelines, measured by:
- Timeliness of service
- Remake and return rates compared to company averages
- Follow-up calls to customers post-purchase
- Maximize relationships and sales opportunities within Managed Vision Care.
- Execute operational procedures, including:
- Safety measures (security systems, posted safety information, fire extinguishers, door locks)
- Store maintenance, including cleanliness, lighting, and safety protocols
- Demonstrated history of sales growth through effective sales techniques and accountability.
- Ability to train, coach, and develop associates focused on patient care and sales results.
- Proven capability to deliver exceptional experiences during direct patient interactions.
- Experience in recruiting and selecting associates and healthcare providers.
- Background in retail or customer service with measurable results.
- Ability to present and implement effective solutions for business growth.
- Strong communication skills to meet and exceed patient expectations.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with associates and healthcare providers.
- Experience in effective store merchandising and attention to detail.
- Capability to manage priorities with adaptability and flexibility.
- Willingness to take calculated risks.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up practices.
- Ability to multitask and delegate effectively to enhance patient interactions.
- Preferred experience with computer systems.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in retail operations is required.
