Job Summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at the Maplewood Imaging Center. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Perform examinations to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis
    • Identify relevant data from images and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
    • Verify patient identification and documentation to ensure accuracy and safety
    • Communicate and educate patients regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the procedure
  • Image Quality and Integrity
    • Achieve high-quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
    • Accurately complete computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, status changes, and image transfers in a timely manner
    • Ensure accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
  • Team Collaboration and Professional Development
    • Orient and mentor new employees and students to ensure a smooth transition
    • Participate in departmental process and quality improvement initiatives to drive excellence
    • Stay up-to-date with current knowledge and best practices to ensure competency and expertise
    • Clean and maintain rooms and supplies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance
    • Operate equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines to ensure optimal performance
    • Identify and respond to equipment problems to ensure minimal downtime
    • Participate in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
    Requirements
    • ARRT Registration
    • BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
    • Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
    • Preferred: 1-year experience as a technologist and MRI certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
