We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team at Allina Health. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procedure Performance
    • Complete procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines.
    • Identify patients with two identifiers and document all necessary aspects of the procedure.
    • Observe and communicate with patients, responding to their needs and maintaining a safe patient environment.
  • Image Quality and Accuracy
    • Perform procedures with a high degree of accuracy, demonstrating a thorough understanding of diagnostic equipment.
    • Maintain work knowledge and competence, gathering relevant information to assist in image interpretation.
    • Verify that all images have been appropriately transferred to the imaging storage and retrieval system.
  • Clerical and Administrative Tasks
    • Provide accurate clerical functions, utilizing electronic medical records and understanding storage and retrieval systems.
    • Ensure all documentation is complete post-procedure.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, reporting problems, issues, or ideas.
    • Provide assistance, ideas, and information to support the work of others.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or vocational degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or
  • Vocational or technical training graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and 2-year School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or
  • Vocational or technical training graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and ARDMS registered or registry eligible
  • 0-2 years of diagnostic Sonography experience

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certified Ultrasound Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in abdomen, and/or OB/GYN, registry eligible upon hire or
  • Certified Ultrasound Technologist – ARDMS registered in Breast upon hire required for Piper Breast Center Locations
  • Certified Ultrasound Technologist - ARDMS required registry eligible, registered within 6 months of hire and
  • Registered Vascular Technologist - ARDMS required registered RVT upon hire for AHG Clinic Locations or
  • Registered Vascular Technologist - ARDMS required registry eligible, registered within 6 months for Hospital locations
  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire
