Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at DELTA LEASING LLC. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining heavy equipment for our North Slope operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diverse repair tasks, including electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Operate and safely use diesel engines, hydraulics & pneumatic operating equipment.
  • Repair and maintain light and heavy equipment.
  • Perform AC/DC stick welding, mig welding, and the use of oxy-acetylene methods of cutting and welding.
  • Resolve and repair equipment failures and mechanical issues as directed.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED, AND five (5) years experience in heavy equipment repair.
  • Must have experience with man lifts, all terrain forklifts, cranes, loaders, heaters, light plants, generators, etc.
  • Ability to work in the arctic environment and knowledge of arctic weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of repair techniques and requirements for mechanical, electronic, and other diverse equipment systems.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions for operating and repairing motorized vehicles, equipment and tools.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent exposure to hazardous work environments with heavy machinery, hazardous materials and extreme weather conditions. Position requires frequent climbing, bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling and working in cramped positions.

Depending on the need of the organization, incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain 'A' Alaska CDL licensing and any additional certifications or training in one or more specialty areas. May be called out to work off-shift in emergency situations. Minimum of a 5 year clean driving record required.
