Position: Locomotive Engineering Supervisor
Company: Alstom
Position Overview:
- Oversee engine and train service teams, ensuring operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Provide direction and support to engineers and conductors, ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
- Ensure compliance with train orders, operational rules, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with Safety, Training, and Compliance Managers to uphold regulatory standards.
- Supervise and mentor newly hired locomotive engineers and conductors.
- Facilitate recertification training and conduct performance assessments.
- Review safety documentation and ensure operational compliance with established regulations.
- Engage in safety briefings and maintain a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication abilities, leadership potential, and comprehensive knowledge of operational rules.
- Capability to manage emergency situations and operate various types of locomotive engines safely.
- Certification as a Locomotive Engineer is required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business, or a related discipline.
- Locomotive Engineer Certification.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a railroad environment regulated by the FRA.
- At least 7 years of experience as a railroad engineer in an FRA-regulated setting.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform inspections and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of working in diverse environments and enduring outdoor conditions.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
- Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must successfully pass a background investigation.
Compensation:
$110,000.00 to $140,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Eligible for Railroad Retirement benefits.
