Job Title: Forensic Scientist-Biology/DNA Series SCT

Job Summary:

The City of Albuquerque, NM is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Scientist-Biology/DNA Series SCT to join our team. As a Forensic Scientist-Biology/DNA Series SCT, you will be responsible for conducting forensic analysis of biological evidence, including DNA analysis, to aid in the investigation of crimes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct forensic analysis of biological evidence, including DNA analysis, to aid in the investigation of crimes.
  • Develop and implement new methods and techniques for forensic analysis.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to provide expert testimony and analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in forensic science and technology.
  • Develop and maintain quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biology, chemistry, or forensic science.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in forensic analysis or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with DNA analysis and other forensic techniques.
  • Certification in forensic science or a related field.
