Fire Alarm and Special Hazards Systems Technician

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm and Special Hazards Systems Technician to join our team at Associated Fire Protection - Omaha, NE. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing critical fire alarm and special hazard systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, inspect, and repair fire alarm and special hazard systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to accurately install systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure systems are functioning properly.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with fire alarm and special hazard systems.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in fire alarm, security, low voltage, and/or systems maintenance a plus.
  • NICET I Certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Test & Inspect, or Special Hazards (or equivalent certification like ESA CAT L1) preferred.
  • Strong reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions effectively.
  • Ability to work safely in various environments, including construction sites.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively.
  • Ability to make recommendations for system improvements.
Work Environment:
  • This position requires working in various locations, including warehouses, offices, and construction sites.
  • The work environment may involve exposure to temperature extremes, noise, moving machinery, dust, chemicals, and potential electrical hazards.
  • The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in different positions is essential.
