Overview

Stewart & Stevenson FDDA LLC is seeking a skilled Marine Diesel Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance on customer vessels, at dock or sea, on customer equipment including engines, engine components, electronics, and subassemblies.

Position Summary

As a Marine Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for identifying and ordering necessary parts to complete repairs and routine maintenance, performing routine maintenance on equipment according to established guidelines and schedules, and completing all work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and order necessary parts to complete repairs and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and/or one to two years related experience.
  • A dependable and trustworthy individual with strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to meet customer needs while following company procedures.
  • The ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • The ability to perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.

Skills & Abilities

You will need:

  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
  • Technical certification in automotive and/or diesel engine repair.
  • The ability to utilize laptop computers and portable diagnostic tools.
  • A clean driving record and valid Driver's License.
