- Engine Overhauls and Repairs: Perform engine overhauls and other necessary repairs following diagnostic evaluations.
- Optimal Performance: Ensure optimal performance through sea trials, making adjustments as required.
- Cost Management: Manage costs by utilizing warranty options and evaluating service and parts alternatives.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of engine and vessel service and repairs.
- Work Environment: Uphold a safe and organized work environment.
- Task Ownership: Take ownership of tasks, accommodating new and different requests to add value.
- MTU Engine Commissioning: Perform MTU engine commissioning trials.
- Customer Communication: Communicate professionally with customers on-site.
- Training and Guidance: Provide guidance, assistance, and training to apprentice marine technicians.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Schooling: Technical schooling is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience, with a focus on marine large bore diesel engines preferred.
- MTU Engine Experience: Extensive experience with MTU engines.
- MTU MCS/RCS Electronics: Familiarity with MTU MCS/RCS electronics.
- Diasys Software: Experience with Diasys software is a plus.
- Hourly Rate: $34.00 to $47.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
- Additional Compensation: An additional $1.50 per hour when working in the field.
- Travel Expectations: Up to 50% travel expected.
