About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Credit Representative I to join our team in Itasca, IL. As a key member of our accounting and finance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the prompt turnover of accounts receivable.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Contacting customers to discuss account status and request payments
  • Preparing delinquent accounts for outside collection activities
  • Working closely with the Accounts Receivable team on cash application and maintaining current receivable account balances
  • Satisfactorily answering internal and external customers' questions

You will also be responsible for:

  • Collecting past due payments from all accounts and handling collections matters in a fair, courteous, and prompt manner
  • Applying payments and/or credits/adjustments to keep delinquency and bad debt to a minimum
  • Prepared information for collection agency and/or attorneys for delinquent accounts, disputes over discrepancies in invoices, and negotiating payment plans when needed
  • Creating reports necessary to reconcile accounts and report to management the status of accounts
  • Processing miscellaneous paperwork and updating systems as required by credit policy and procedures

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with various databases and software systems, including Oracle, to ensure quick resolutions to issues.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) Savings Plan, discretionary profit sharing, and educational assistance.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience, plus 1-2 years of related experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in credit collections and exposure to routine accounting activities
