Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers and user workstations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Design and implement workgroup-scale networks, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration across various client systems.
  • Develop and manage authentication, file-sharing, and collaboration servers, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with security personnel to establish and enforce hardening protocols for classified systems, adhering to industry standards.
  • Document system configurations for both new and existing systems, ensuring clarity and accessibility of information.
  • Engage in proactive maintenance and development of Linux infrastructure technology to guarantee continuous uptime.
  • Engineer solutions related to systems administration for various projects and operational needs.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning to preemptively address potential issues.
  • Coordinate and implement software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes across servers and network hardware.
  • Create and modify scripts or applications to automate routine tasks, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Provide insights on improving system stability, security, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Linux Administrator, with in-depth knowledge of various Linux distributions including RedHat, CentOS, and Debian.
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL and/or MariaDB, along with familiarity in VMWare and SAN management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, and Python.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols including DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, and SNMP.
  • Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE, LPIC) are advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as Zabbix.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.
