Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Linux Platform

Brahma Consulting Group is a recruitment firm that delivers personalized, industry-focused recruitment solutions. We are assisting our client in finding a Senior Software Engineer - Linux Platform in the Greater San Diego area.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer - Linux Platform, you will be responsible for driving the stability and performance optimization efforts for a next-generation wireless system platform. You will be an integral member of the team responsible for platform architecture (Hardware and Linux OS) and will collaborate closely with other cross-functional development teams to understand application requirements and provide platform-level support and optimizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain high-performance Linux server platforms for high-performance computing applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize system performance and ensure optimal hardware configuration.
  • Design and implement performance monitoring tools and techniques to identify and resolve bottlenecks and stability issues.
  • Develop and maintain Linux system administration scripts and tools to automate platform management and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of platform-level support and optimizations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in professional post-graduate experience with Modern C++.
  • 5+ years of experience in professional post-graduate experience maintaining and optimizing x86-based Linux server platforms for high-performance computing applications.
  • Experience with hardware configuration and optimization to ensure optimal system performance.
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration, including performance tuning, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and techniques to identify and resolve bottlenecks and stability issues.
  • Ability to analyze system metrics and logs to proactively identify and address potential problems.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
  • Ability to document platform configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in professional post-graduate experience with Modern C++.
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux kernels built using the PREEMPT_RT patch set.
  • 5+ years of experience with DPDK for low-latency, high-throughput networking applications.
  • 3+ years of experience with ARM architecture and optimizing ARM-based Linux platforms.
