Role Overview:
Under the direct supervision of licensed healthcare professionals, the Patient Care Assistant is tasked with assisting patients with daily living activities and supporting unit operations that enhance patient care within the Cardiac Monitor Unit at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. The Patient Care Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment, contributing to the overall health and safety of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of licensed personnel, the Patient Care Assistant will:
- Identify and communicate any changes in patient care needs to the registered nurse.
- Document observations and ensure patient privacy in accordance with unit-specific standards and protocols.
- Provide both emotional and physical support to patients, ensuring a safe environment. Responsible for the upkeep of departmental equipment, including reporting and following up on repair needs.
- Compensation placement within the pay range is influenced by various factors, including relevant experience and qualifications.
