Extension EFNEP Educator: A Rewarding Career in Community Development

About the Position:
The Extension EFNEP Educator is a vital role in delivering nutrition and related subject matter to limited resource families in North Carolina. As an employee of NC Cooperative Extension, NC State University, you will work under the supervision of the County Extension Director with guided assistance from the Regional Nutrition Extension Associate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and enroll adult and/or school-aged youth participants into the program
- Deliver approved EFNEP curriculum to adults and/or youth groups
- Teach basic principles of nutrition and food preparation skills
- Submit required program records as requested
- Promote the program within the assigned area
- Recruit volunteers from within the community to assist with programming
- Collaborate with local Cooperative Extension staff and agencies
- Assist with securing program resources
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License and reliable, personal transportation required and must be maintained
- Valid North Carolina driver's license is required within 60 days of hire
- Travel reimbursement is provided according to state guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the community and social service programs for limited resource families
- Experience teaching and/or working with limited resource adults
- Nutrition education experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred with English and Spanish proficiency in both written and oral communication
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday business hours, 8:30 a.m- 5:00 p.m, occasional evenings and weekends as requested.
Minimum Experience/Education:
The minimum requirement for employment with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension (NCCE) is a high-school diploma or equivalent.
