Job Summary

Tuknik Government Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA. As an Electrical Engineer, you will apply your knowledge in the design of facilities electrical systems, including lighting, power, life safety, security, communication systems, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects
  • Prepare electrical drawings and specifications for electrical systems
  • Perform engineering calculations, including short circuit fault current, voltage drop, demand load, lightning protection, and energy density calculations
  • Review short circuit and protective relay coordination studies, and sequence of operations for power distribution systems
  • Meet with customers to explain electrical engineering technical requirements of projects
Requirements
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
  • Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience analyzing performance requirements and designing systems handling very large volumes of real-time data at extremely low latencies
Working Environment

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position, and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.

The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time.

The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
