Job Overview

We are looking for a hybrid Paralegal or Legal Assistant responsible for specific duties related to document preparation, calendar management, case management, and discovery support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document Preparation: Prepare templates, review and proofread attorney final drafts, and revise a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Disclosure Statements: Use a template to identify witnesses, describe exhibits in an Excel spreadsheet, sort by date, and import into the Exhibit portion of the Disclosure Statement.
  • Calendar Management: Keep track of the calendar and anticipate upcoming events like Disclosure Statement deadlines and Motion deadlines.
  • Case Management: Docketing using Law Toolbox; organize and maintain comprehensive case files by filing documents as they arrive via email, sending them to clients when appropriate, and calendaring them immediately.
  • Discovery Support: Assist in all phases of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, managing document production, and organizing evidence for depositions and trials.
Requirements:
  • Tech-savvy: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, electronic filing, and billing software (Clio), and docketing software (Law ToolBox preferred).
  • Education: Associate degree in paralegal studies or a related field, or a paralegal certificate from an accredited institution. Paralegal certification is waivable for an experienced legal assistant who has been effectively functioning as a paralegal for an extended period.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of paralegal experience, with a strong preference for experience in commercial litigation.

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
