We are seeking a hybrid Paralegal or Legal Assistant responsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Document Preparation: Prepare templates, review and proofread attorney final drafts, and revise a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Disclosure Statements- be capable of using a template, identifying the witnesses named in the exhibits and describing the exhibits in an Excel spreadsheet, using "sort" to order by date and importing the spreadsheet into the Exhibit portion of the Disclosure Statement;
  • Calendar management: Keep track of the calendar and anticipate upcoming events like Disclosure Statement deadlines and Motion deadlines.
  • Case Management: Docketing (we use Law Toolbox and can teach you how to use it); organize and maintain comprehensive case files by filing documents as they arrive via email, sending them to clients when appropriate, and calendaring them immediately.
  • Discovery Support: Assist in all phases of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, managing document production, and organizing evidence for depositions and trials.

Specific qualifications for the position include:

  • Tech-savvy, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, electronic filing, and billing software (we use Clio), and docketing software (Law ToolBox is preferred).
  • Associate degree in paralegal studies or a related field, or a paralegal certificate from an accredited institution. Paralegal certification is waivable for an experienced legal assistant who has been effectively functioning as a paralegal for an extended period of time.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of paralegal experience, with a strong preference for experience in commercial litigation.

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Employees have access to a stipend for healthcare benefits.
