Mount Prospect Academy (MPA) has evolved to provide a range of mental and behavioral health support services to a diverse group of adolescents who are often challenging to serve. Our specialized services include home and community-based treatment, residential treatment programs, group homes, and educational institutions tailored for special needs. Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver services to students in alignment with program objectives and individual treatment plans.
  • Establish connections with students to foster understanding and compassion, facilitating treatment progress.
  • Implement engaging and relevant programming that promotes a positive program culture.
  • Assist in completing bedtime routines and prepare students for the day during morning wake-up routines.
  • Conduct regular bed-checks with empathy and in accordance with established policies.
  • Provide crisis support to students exhibiting unsafe behaviors.
  • Encourage student success and actively engage with them.
  • Maintain 100% supervision of students at all times.
  • Celebrate student achievements and reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Obtain TCI certification and apply TCI principles in practice.
  • Utilize knowledge of ARC to support student success.
  • Manage student crises with compassion, aiming for positive outcomes.
  • Facilitate the residential routine with intentionality and thoughtful planning.
  • Attend work punctually and manage time effectively.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Plan and execute meaningful programming that resonates with students.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of risk and protective factors in the context of mental health.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or 60 college credits.
  • OR 2 years of full-time experience working with children.
  • OR a combination of education and experience totaling 2 years.
  • OR 7 years of parenting experience.

Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license preferred; must be 21 years or older.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of background checks.
