Position Overview:

• The Logistics Route Engineering Specialist is tasked with evaluating and enhancing daily service routes across numerous market centers and a substantial fleet of vehicles, aligning with corporate strategic goals.

• This role involves providing analytical insights in route planning, supported by data accuracy, route modeling, and engineering, while assisting market centers in maintaining optimal performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• A vital contributor in a fast-paced, high-volume fulfillment environment, responsible for strategic oversight, process execution, and timely delivery of route optimization solutions.

• Must demonstrate the capability to make critical business decisions regarding the identification of opportunities, resource allocation, and prioritization of route optimization initiatives for a significant supply chain organization.

• Engage in continuous engineering and optimization of service routes to enhance efficiency and labor trends, providing baseline performance data and projected outcomes.

• Direct and involve key team members in data management to ensure the accuracy of engineered route outputs.

• Assist in generating and disseminating delivery metrics, including baseline and projected productivity metrics for handoff to execution teams post-implementation.

• Serve as the recognized expert in route engineering software and statistical route data within the organization.

• Develop and maintain Route Engineering process documentation (Standard Operating Procedures) and project timelines for ongoing and future initiatives.

• Collaborate with key departments and market centers on route maintenance opportunities in response to business changes and growth prospects.
  • This position is integral to achieving operational efficiencies while enhancing customer service and delivery performance, reporting directly to the Director of Route Solutions.

Minimum Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in complex supply chain and logistics operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of route optimization or the ability to learn route modeling principles and techniques.
  • Proven operational and technical expertise.
  • Excellent analytical skills in developing actionable KPIs and metrics related to service and cost.
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving with a commitment to service excellence.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
