We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Associate to join our team at the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Job Summary:The Mental Health Associate will be responsible for providing direct care and support to clients in a transitional residential program. This includes assisting with daily living skills, medication management, and crisis intervention. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with mental health needs and a strong understanding of psychiatric rehabilitation principles.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct care and support to clients in a transitional residential program
- Assist with daily living skills, including medication management and personal care
- Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records
- Three (3) years of experience in a psychiatric setting
- College training in mental health technology, behavioral science, social work, or rehabilitation therapy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Experience providing lead coordinator job functions in an intensive Behavioral Health Transitional Residential program
- Experience providing intensive Behavioral Health Transitional Residential services to individuals with severe chronic mental illness, substance use disorders, and complex medical comorbidities
- Ability to transport clients and interpret and implement agency/facility policies and procedures
Incumbents may be required to lift and restrain clients, and may have significant exposure to communicable/infectious diseases and to risk of injury.
