Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Kindthread. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and maintaining a positive and productive store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Model excellent customer service skills and provide a positive shopping experience for our customers.
  • Sales Growth: Assist the store manager in achieving sales targets and driving business growth through effective merchandising, inventory management, and visual displays.
  • Team Management: Train and coach store staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional customer service and meet sales targets.
  • Operational Excellence: Assist the store manager in completing all operational activities, including cash management, inventory control, and loss prevention.
  • Merchandising: Implement all merchandising guidelines and visual displays to create an attractive and engaging store environment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in the management of store inventory, including receiving, stocking, and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Loss Prevention: Manage loss prevention techniques to minimize shrinkage and protect company assets.
  • Cash Management: Ensure all cash management duties are followed, including handling cash, operating the point of sale system, and reconciling cash transactions.
  • Store Operations: Follow the store's opening and closing procedures, including setting up and closing the store, and ensuring all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills are essential to provide a positive shopping experience for our customers.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, staff, and management.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use Point of Sale software, credit card terminals, and other technical equipment.
  • Math Skills: Math competency to calculate discounts, proportions, and percentages.
  • Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet sales targets and complete operational activities.
  • Experience: 1-3 years retail experience, with experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. is essential, with some formal education preferred.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Constantly standing and walking.
  • Constantly reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
  • Frequently stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Frequently lifting up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally climbing and descending ladders and step stools.
  • Hearing with or without correction to understand verbal communication.
  • Visual acuity to perform any activity where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach.
