Position Title: Music Education Facilitator
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct group music sessions: Mentor and guide adolescent music instructors, enhancing their pedagogical skills and classroom management techniques.
- Observe and support adolescent music instructors: Offer constructive feedback and coaching to ensure students' advancement in music education.
- Monitor class progress: Evaluate and track students' development in music lessons, collaborating closely with the Music Director.
- Prepare adolescent music instructors for performances: Assist teens in perfecting their routines for end-of-term showcases.
Required Qualifications:
- Instrument Expertise: Proficient in Piano, with additional instrument skills considered advantageous.
- Musical Literacy: Capable of interpreting music notation and familiar with various musical instruments.
- Public Engagement: Comfortable in addressing diverse audiences and making the learning experience enjoyable.
- Passion for gospel and/or contemporary music: Enthusiastic about teaching both modern and traditional gospel music.
- Teaching Proficiency: Able to break down complex concepts for age-appropriate understanding.
- Classroom Leadership: Experienced in guiding groups to meet educational objectives.
- Organizational Skills: Efficient in managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Enjoys engaging with children and communicating effectively.
- Effective Communication: Demonstrates clear and impactful communication within a diverse team environment.
- Willingness to Learn: Open to receiving feedback and committed to ongoing professional development within the New City Kids framework.
Work Schedule: 8-10 hours per week
Compensation: $20-30 per hour, commensurate with experience
Reporting To: Music Director
