Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in the City and County of San Francisco. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing complex engineering work, supervising engineering personnel, and ensuring the successful completion of various engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage engineering personnel, including consultants, to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Perform complex engineering calculations, design, and analysis to ensure compliance with federal, regional, and local regulations.
  • Review and analyze bids for conformance with specifications and for award approval.
  • Develop and implement engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for various projects.
  • Collaborate with operating staff to advise on water/wastewater treatment goals and process optimization.
  • Conduct meetings and make presentations to staff, committees, approval agencies, clients, and the general public.
Requirements
  • Five (5) years of verifiable professional Civil Engineering experience, including two (2) years of experience equivalent to City and County of San Francisco class 5207 Associate Engineer or higher.
  • Possession of a current Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in Civil Engineering.
Working Conditions

Some positions may require specific lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, working in high places and confined spaces, exposure to various weather conditions and outdoors, bending, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time and over uneven surfaces.

Positions in this class may also be required to work specific schedules which may include weekends, holidays, part-time, nights, and/or overtime.
