About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at UKG. As a key member of our EPIC group, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic circuits and systems for our timeclocks and other products.

Your primary focus will be on creating new designs or modifying existing ones to address product life-cycle events, such as obsolescence or supply-chain shortages. You will also perform root-cause analyses of field failures using engineering analyses and common problem-solving methods.

Collaboration with our manufacturing engineering team is essential to provide ongoing support with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with electro-mechanical assemblies. You will work closely with manufacturing to create tests, procedures, or processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure a quality product reaches our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic circuits and systems
  • Perform root-cause analyses of field failures
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering team
  • Develop and maintain test procedures and test circuit schematics
  • Assist with testing associated with NPI process and product qualification
  • Manage/track software tools and licenses used in manufacturing testing and product development

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering principles, schematic capture, and layout tools. You should have experience in designing and developing electronic circuits and systems, as well as troubleshooting hardware and process issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of microprocessor design, including PMIC and startup power synchronization
  • Experience in design of RF card readers, such as NFC or 125 KHz RF readers
  • Experience in compliance with CE marking requirements for intentional radiators, such as RF card readers
  • Experience in circuit design using MIPI or LVDS for displays
  • Experience in layout using PADS Professional, Expedition, or Altium Designer
  • Experience with LabView, Python, and C/Assembly programming
