About the Role

As a Supervising Court Investigator at Vets Hired, you will play a critical role in leading a team of investigators in conducting complex investigations and providing expert guidance on conservatorship and guardianship proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Establish unit goals and priorities, assign, review, and evaluate work; recommend action on personnel matters such as merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Investigative Expertise: Conduct special investigations of individuals and organizations on complex issues; review and approve summaries of interviews and investigations results.
  • Training and Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge for self and the unit; plan, implement, and monitor training and cross-training for staff.
  • Communication and Liaison: Provide information on the nature of conservatorship and guardianship proceedings to families, general public, attorneys, and all court clients; consult with judicial officers, management, staff, and court users, as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in science, social science, behavioral science, liberal arts, or nursing.
  • Experience: Two years full-time (or equivalent) experience in a classification comparable to or higher than a Court Investigator, or five years full-time (or equivalent) experience performing casework or investigations in a legal, financial, law enforcement, or social services setting, with at least two years of supervisory experience.
