Despite being one of the wealthiest counties in the nation, Santa Clara County faces significant poverty challenges, with fragmented services that hinder access. For over 40 years, Catholic Charities has been a leader in providing essential safety net services and is now poised for a significant transformation. Guided by its strategic plan, "Footsteps: Pathways to Self-Sufficiency," the organization is launching a systematic, scalable initiative focused on family-centered community change.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the "Footsteps" vision, ensuring operational focus and effective management of a diverse portfolio of human services programs.
- Serve as the primary representative of the organization to stakeholders, including funders, donors, and community partners, while actively promoting the agency's impact and driving policy support.
The CEO will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, including the Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose, and will be supported by a talented Senior Executive Team. The organization employs approximately 560 staff members, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Essential Functions
Leadership & Culture
- Develop a deep understanding of the agency's history, culture, and programs, fostering collaborative relationships with the Board and staff.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity and teamwork, motivating and empowering a diverse workforce.
- Guide the organization through cultural transitions with empathy and conviction.
Financial Oversight
- Ensure efficient administration of operations and programs, making informed, data-driven decisions.
- Maintain the organization's fiscal health, ensuring sustainable funding and robust financial planning.
Program Development
- Champion high-quality programming while managing risks and maximizing impact.
- Identify and address unmet needs within the community, fostering innovation in service delivery.
Fundraising & External Relations
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to enhance fundraising efforts and build relationships with major donors.
- Advocate for clients and promote the organization’s visibility and leadership in the community.
Qualifications
