We are seeking a highly skilled Database Specialist to join our team at CompQsoft, Inc. in Houston, TX.

Job Summary:

The Database Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of our databases, as well as implementing and tuning database systems to meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure appropriate linkages to existing databases and data processing systems
  • Implement and maintain database security and recovery procedures
  • Monitor database transactions and perform database tuning
  • Determine data storage and access requirements
  • Control view and access to databases
  • Assist with database promotions and technical refreshes
  • Perform evaluation of current IT operations to determine multi-year projections for personnel, hardware, and software
Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Database Administrator
  • Experience in Oracle, Ingres, and/or SQL Server
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures used in phases of life cycle applications and systems development, engineering, programming, and analysis
  • IAT-II Level or IAT-I Level certifications
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong oral communication and written comprehension capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
