The successful candidate will be responsible for the integration and testing of satellite tracking ground station equipment and components, as well as performing preventative maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integration and testing of satellite tracking ground station equipment and components
  • Performing preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Utilizing electronic test and measurement equipment to support general laboratory operations
  • Assembling, configuring, testing, operating, and repairing hardware in accordance with documentation provided
  • Performing benchtop RF testing with guidance from test procedures
  • Understanding of analog/digital electronics and microprocessor-based control systems
  • Collecting test data for review and analysis, documenting equipment failures through designated reporting tools
  • Performing electrical, mechanical, and RF troubleshooting as required
  • Providing documentation support, such as minor edits to existing procedures and/or technical drawings
  • Maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and reporting unsafe conditions to management
Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in either Electronics Maintenance or RF Systems Maintenance (either skillset qualifies, having both skillset is preferred)
  • Relevant Electronics Maintenance experience skilled in AC and DC electronics, skilled in analog and digital electronics theory of operation, and ability to troubleshoot to component level using schematics, oscilloscopes, DMV, signal generators, etc.
  • Relevant RF Systems experience skilled in the theory of operation and troubleshooting of RF electronics for transmit and receive satellite tracking ground stations using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Skilled in theory of operation for microprocessor-based control systems, servo control systems or RF electronics as mentioned above
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years postsecondary/associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • Must be a US citizen or have a green card or work permit
  • Ability to travel worldwide 40% of the year for approximately 8-week intervals, able to work solo both in-house and in the field with minimum supervision
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 50ft vertically
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Fully proficient understanding of RF, terminology, and testing equipment (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.)
  • Understanding of RF connection types and waveguide sizes (e.g., N-type connectors, 2.92 mm connectors, SMA connectors, BNC connectors)
  • Ability to read and understand all applicable electronic schematics work instructions and procedures and perform computer-related tasks without assistance
  • Possess a high level of initiative and willingness to learn
  • Professional attitude and excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Daily schedule and task flexibility with minimal notice
  • Advanced computer skills including familiarity with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word)
  • Advanced networking experience
  • Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with working in an ESD safe environment
  • Familiar with standard electronic test and measurement equipment operations
  • Ability to solder
