Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Distribution Designer III to join our Power Distribution engineer team. This role will be responsible for performing complex detailed design of overhead electric distribution systems, assisting with quality control reviews, and training junior team members.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex detailed design of overhead electric distribution systems, including the preparation of field notes, drawings, specifications, and estimates.
- Assist with quality control reviews and training junior team members.
- Provide limited direction to Designers and Technicians on assigned projects and may be required to act as design leader on projects of minor complexity.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in one or more of the following areas: Distribution Electrical Design, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Design, iSurveying, GIS and Mapping.
- Associates Degree from an accredited college or university required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to handle contacts with clients and other agencies in connection with project design responsibilities.
- Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform to job responsibilities.
- 8+ years of underground and/or overhead distribution engineering experience. Experience working with SDG&E preferred.
- Experience working in field and office preferred.
- Experience using AutoCAD or Microstation or PLS-CADD preferred.
- Experience reviewing designs and/or training of junior level staff preferred.

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
