Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs semi-skilled to skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the Town's water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Responsible for receiving and carrying out work assignments under the guidance of a Utilities Field Technician I or II. Reports to the Utilities Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs semi-skilled to skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Receives and carries out work assignments under the guidance of a Utilities Field Technician I or II.
  • Reports to the Utilities Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in utility maintenance or construction labor work or a closely related field.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain Level III Water Distribution license from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Class C wastewater collection system from a Florida approved agency within three years of employment.
  • Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake and tanker endorsements within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in water distribution and wastewater collection systems and/or operating automotive or other motorized maintenance and construction equipment.
  • Possession of a Level III Water Distribution license from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and a Class C wastewater collection system from a Florida approved agency.
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the State of Florida.
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake and tanker endorsements.
